Diane grew up in Toledo and is a 1977 graduate of Waite High School. Her work history includes being a Sub-Paraprofessional in the Oregon School District for several years, accounting classes at Owens Community College, and an extensive medical office background.

Her husband Al is self-employed and they have resided in Oregon for over seventeen years. Matt and Andy, her two sons, are graduates of Clay High School, and their third son Alex is currently a freshman at Clay. She has enjoyed numerous years of volunteering in classrooms throughout the district and also served as Parent Club President at Coy Elementary. Over the years, she has coordinated various volunteer programs, such as Heart for Art and Kidz Write.

She is an active member of Heritage Christian Church and is the Treasurer of The Oregon Rocketry Club- an independent youth rocketry club held at The Challenger Learning Center. Diane just started her second year on the Board of Education and is currently serving as their Vice-President.
