“Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life”
Pablo Picasso

Art Foundations –Students have continued working in altered books using a mixed-media format. Many students are also studying famous artists and their works throughout history. The art of the portrait has been a focus in the studio as well. Learning the appropriate proportions and placement of the facial features of the human face has proven both challenging and rewarding. Many students will be using their newly acquired skills to render self-portraits in pencil.

Drawing & Painting –Students are painting paper bags for the "Art For Thought" contest sponsored by Food For Thought. They are also working on a t-shirt design student-led activity by fellow artist, Stephen Owczarzak.

Ceramics and Sculpture –Students are currently working on inflatable sculptures and fused glass pieces.

Print-making and Mixed-media –Students are wrapping up the “wet clay” portion of their hand-build abstract sculpture. The diversity of projects is delightful as each student has chosen a unique abstracted organic form in which to carefully model. The textural effects rendered in these sculptures are giving them a sense of movement. The pieces will be glazed and then adorned with mixed-media embellishments.
