Clay High School has changed the method of calculating the semester grades.  The new Student Information System (PowerSchool) is designed to calculate the semester grade based on the actual percentage and the exam grade the student has earned for each quarter in every class.  This computation will calculate a more precise semester grade for the student.   The weight of the quarter grade and exam grade will remain the same.  The weight of each quarter grade is 40% of the semester grade, and the exam grade is 20% of the semester grade.  The grading scale no longer has a conversion percent column because the computer will use the student’s actual earned percentage in each class (click here for grading scale).
