Cosmetology Update
Cosmetology
The Cosmetology Program has had a busy month. Mrs. Jirinec’s class participated in the Wellness for Women event at Bay Park Hospital on April 9th. The students performed mini manicures and hand waxes. It was a wonderful day to work with women of the Oregon Community. On April 10th, Mrs. Jirinec’s class walked five miles for MS at The University of Toledo. It was a beautiful, sunny day and a very successful fund raiser.
On the first Friday of April , Eryn Badenhop and Heather Curry completed their Senior Project by organizing a fashion show event at Clay High School. Money was donated to Jacquelyn Seger, a former cosmetology student, to help with her medical bills. Many students participated to make this a successful event. A special thank-you goes to the help and support of the Today’s Salon.
On May 2, The Senior Cosmetology students will take the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Exam, in Columbus Ohio. At the end of the day students will be licensed to work in hair salons and spas in the State of Ohio.
On May 6th, Mrs. Jirinec’s class will participate in Teacher Appreciation Day at Coy School. Manicures and hand waxes will be performed on teachers for all the hard work the teachers provide to the students and parents of Coy School.
The end of the year will be wrapped up with Junior Cosmetology working on clients from the community and final exams.
