Oregon City Schools strives to stay current regarding health issues affecting the community so we can help parents and students make good choices.  In the past, topics we've covered have included H1N1, vaccine safety, and general illness prevention.  With the recent discussion in the news media regarding bedbugs, I think it would be beneficial to provide information on this subject for our students and families.

Scientific evidence does not show that bedbugs spread disease. So students who may be affected by bedbugs should not be excluded from school.  If there is a suspicion of bedbugs, the student should be sent to the nurse who will evaluate the student, make the necessary recommendations, and contact the student's parents or guardians.
