There is a new class at Clay High School and it starts with High Performance Remote Control Cars in the Engineering Technology Class. Mr. Del Kuntz will teach the class to 18-20 students this semester and 18-20 students the second semester. The national program is called Ten80 and is sponsored by NASCAR. This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program is one of the first ones in the Northeastern United States.
Ten80 is a STEM resource team of engineers, scientists and educators. The Ten80 Student Racing Challenge: NASCAR STEM Initiative provides ways to engage students in grades 9-12 in exciting STEM investigations, projects and lessons. It also applies the standards-aligned supplemental curriculum in science, math and STEM classes. This program will expand in the next two years to two classes of Engineering Tech I and two classes of Engineering Tech II (each one semester in length). If you would like any more information about this class at Clay, please call Mr. Kuntz at 419-693-0668 X-2130 or EMAIL Mr. Kuntz at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
