It has been my great privilege to work for the Oregon City School District for the past 22 years. I was hired in 1987 to teach Electronics at CHS. I was an Electronics Instructor for 15 years, before leaving the classroom to accept the position of E.M.I.S. (Education Management Information System) Coordinator. The E.M.I.S. Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate transmission of information to the Ohio Department of Education. This information determines our districts funding, and accountability which is reflected in the building and district report cards. I am also administrator over other data systems in the district, which include: Mole & SWAN, which are our grade input systems, our district calendar DynaCal, our email system, the S.S.I.D. (Statewide Student Identification) system, SWAN Attendance, D3A2 (Data Driven Decisions for Academic Achievement) database, which gives us analytical data on our students state testing results, and eSIS which is our new student information system.  I am a Co-Public Relations Specialist, responsible for producing the district newspaper, “The Oregon Oracle.” I have had the honor of being chosen for the book of  “Who’s Who Among American High School Teachers” three times. I coached boys and girls tennis for 5 years, and was a SkillsUSA club advisor for 7 years.

I was born in Salzburg, Austria. When I was six weeks old, I decided to immigrate to the United States……. Actually, my dad was stationed there while serving in the army. My mom went with him, and I was born several weeks before his enlistment was up. I grew up in Toledo, and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1973, with a state certificate in Industrial Electronics. I worked in industry as an electronics technician and corporate trainer until 1981. I then went into management where I held positions of Assistant Service Manager, Service Manager and Operations Manager for Montgomery Ward. In 1986 I left industry to teach. My first teaching position was at Delaware JVS, in Delaware Ohio. I taught there for one year, when I was offered the electronics teaching position here in Oregon. I was an apprenticeship instructor for the overhead & underground line department at Toledo Edison for 10 years, and an apprenticeship instructor for T.M.E.C.A. (Toledo Metropolotin Electrical Contractors Association) for 8 years.

My wife Sue and I are empty-nesters now. Our daughter Jennifer is married, has two children, and lives in Delaware, Ohio. She is an elementary teacher in the Olentangy School District, just north of Columbus. Our son Jason graduated from Clay in 2003, is married, has a son, and lives in Oregon. He is currently attending college full time. I enjoy spending time with Sue, and have a passion for history and genealogy. I spend many hours digging up ancestors, (on the computer!) and working on our family tree.
