Option Success: Fassett’s After-School Program to Combat F’s
Factors that play into low self-esteem and poor decision making are failure and the feeling that nobody cares about you.  Fassett’s second semester program, Option Success, will target those factors.  Our goal is to aid in making positive choices to complete work and structure work habits in order to achieve.

Students will qualify for the program third quarter if they receive an F in any class during the second quarter.  Students can also qualify at three week intervals if they are earning an F in any class at that time.  They will be required to attend an after-school work session two times per week and there will be monitors present.   Students will be taught strategies for prioritizing and planning for work completion and for time management.  They will also make and execute a daily plan.  The program will be tiered so a student can earn his/her way out after 3 weeks.  Students who fail to show progress will extend their time to four days a week.   

We anticipate this program to motivate some to complete work and study to avoid mandatory extended day and we anticipate the program to support others who need the daily structure and guidance.
