The Oregon City School Child Nutrition Department continues to serve nutritious meals that children will enjoy daily. All meals meet patterns established by th U.S. Child Nutrition Department for school lunches and breakfasts.
Students may buy lunches for $2.40 in elementary schools and $2.65 in middle schools and high school. Breakfast is $1.00 in the elementary schools, $1.25 in middle and high schools. Extra milk is $.50. Elementary schools also offer a sack lunch, which consists of a sandwich, vegetable or pickle, fruit, snack and milk. Lite lunches and salads are offered daily at the middle schools and high school. Adult meals are also available for $3.00.
The cafeteris will continue to offer ala carte snacks ranging in price from $.25 to $.75 in the elementaries, and from $.30 to $1.25 in the middle schools. The high school has a snack bar with various items from $.30 to $2.00. Snack and drink machines are also available.
Students who pre-pay by week or month usually have more time to eat lunch and/ or breakfast.
Oregon City Schools offers free and reduced lunches and breakfasts. Children from families whose income levels qualify may receive free lunches, reduced-priced lunches for $.40, and reduced breakfast for $.30. Children from families that receive food stamps or OWF qualify for free lunch and free breakfast. Qualifying families must complete an application and return it to school. Applications will be sent home with the child upon request, or families may pick up an application in the school office.
