Wind Turbine Installed Print E-mail

On November 8th there was a board meeting held and at that meeting, one 900 KW wind turbine was approved to be installed at Clay High School as well as two 100 KW turbines at Eisenhower Middle School.

Since then the ground was turned up and the slabs were poured in preparation for the two turbines at Eisenhower. On December 19 there was a blade signing for all of the kids at Eisenhower. There were news teams there and members of the board to celebrate such a big step in technology for the Oregon School District. The two turbines at Eisenhower Middle School should be done by the end of our district’s Christmas break. These are the first steps in a great journey for Oregon City Schools. After the turbines at Eisenhower are finished, and the Turbine at Clay High School, the Oregon City School District will be one of the top energy producers in the world by wind turbine. For all of us that live in the district or attend Oregon schools, we should be proud to have such an honor. We should all appreciate such technology being installed so close to home. The turbines are an alternative to paying electricity and other costly bills. After these turbines are installed at the schools, we could even expect other steps to be taken, such as wind turbines being installed for home use or maybe small businesses. We have to realize that the turbines at the school are just starting to scratch the surface of the wind turbine technological break through. The potential of the wind turbines are endless. With the support and help of all people who live in or attend Oregon schools, other schools may see wind turbines installed in the future. We need families to follow both wind turbine assignments and give us their full support. Thank you for your time and we hope to see you or hear from you in the near future. The Oregon City School district is also making break throughs in other alternate ways of energy production such as, solar, bio-thermal and geo-thermal energy.
