Second Graders are Busy! Jerusalem’s 2nd graders have been busy creating autobiographies. For two weeks, we had parents help us remember facts from each year of our lives, which we compiled into paragraphs during our writing lessons at school. The project was complete when we created a ‘person’ to display with our life stories. Our lives have been pretty exciting so far! (Pictured here, Jadyn Bleau and Cecilia Kigar with their self-portraits)
Right before Easter the Jerusalem 2nd grade students made a ‘pizza’ story and sequenced Patricia Polacco’s book, In Enzo’s Splendid Gardens. Then we created paper Pysanky eggs with gel pens. (Nathan Limpf, Dwayne Anderson, Katlyn Tuttle, and Gage Glass, Jerusalem 2nd grade students) After reading Postcards from Pluto, we imagined that aliens came to visit us. We wrote descriptive stories about our aliens and made projects of how they looked. (Jeffery Zsigrai and Elizabeth Jenkins with their aliens.) |
