Honoring Veterans

To celebrate Veteran’s Day, the Jerusalem Parents Group organized a school-wide assembly.  The assembly began with the Christ Dunberger Post presenting the colors.  Then, the Scouts conducted an explanation of the Pledge of Allegiance.  Mrs. Gibson, music teacher, sang a beautiful rendition of America the Beautiful and proceeded to lead the students in song.  Guests Leonard Wasserman and Jim Tichy spoke about the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.  After that, the students’ generous donation That exceeded our school goal of $1,111.11,to the Honor Flight fund was presented.  Finally, the program ended with the retiring of the colors.  Following the assembly, veterans were served refreshments as a small thanks for their contribution to our country.
