Clay High School athletics serve approximately 650 athletes in 21 sports. Clay’s athletic past includes 12 league titles in volleyball, 7 in wrestling, 8 in girls basketball, 9 in softball, 10 in hockey, 17 in football, 10 in boys track, and 27 in baseball. Additionally, the 1979 varsity baseball team captured the schools only state title. More recently, Clay has won league championships in wrestling (5 in a row), softball (4 out of last 6 years), baseball (2 out of last 4 years), girls soccer (3 times), gymnastics (2012), and girls golf (2010 champions). Recent district championships include baseball (2006,2007,2012), softball (2009), and gymnastics (2011,2012). Softball (2010) and girls cross country (2006, 2012) were district runners-up. In 2010, the softball program was a regional runner-up.
