At the present time we need volunteers who can donate 30 minutes or more a week helping 1st and 2nd grade students with reading.  During the sessions the students orally read and discuss various stories with the volunteer.  The students complete basic questions over the story (comprehension) and work on building vocabulary, language skills, writing skills, etc. The program is very beneficial.  It not only provides one-on-one instruction for our students but also builds a support system between the community and school.
