The end of the year is quickly approaching. I am looking forward to these last few weeks as there is so much to celebrate and enjoy! I hope that we have a great close to the school year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and family members who volunteered their time to help out with our students or have worked on special projects/events this year. I really appreciate all that you have done. You have made a difference at Starr School! A special thank you is in order for the Starr Parent Group. Your involvement is greatly appreciated! Many activities/events would not be able to take place without your support. Below are pictures from the last Parent Group Event, Dad and Me Workshop.

The month of May brings many exciting events. Many grade levels are taking end of the year field trips. There are also many ceremonial programs signifying the completion of various programs and opportunities for recognition and celebration. Be sure to consult the list of dates for May to be sure you don't miss any events that may involve your child. You can also check the website often to review what is going on each week under May Updates. The information that is available in this section will help keep you up-to-date on the happenings at Starr School. Please be sure to pick-up your child's medication from the Nurse's Office by the last day of school. Any and all medication that is not picked up by this time will be disposed of properly. Also, if your child will be attending Starr next year and will be taking medications, a new medication form will need to be filled out before Nurse Jill can dispense any medications. Please check with your child to see if he or she owes any fines with the library or money to the cafeteria. Grade cards will be held until all monies are paid. Thank you for your help in this matter. The last day of school for students will be June 5th. Don't forget - There will be a two-hour early dismissal on the last day of school. School will end at 12:50 for Starr students. June 5th will be significant for our 5th graders. This will be their last day of elementary school. I wish them good luck as they transition to middle school next year.
