K-Kids is a club sponsored by Kiwanis, an international organization of volunteers dedicated to helping children around the world.
K-Kids clubs provide elementary students with an opportunity to work together in service to others while developing character and leadership skills. At Starr School, K-Kids members will participate in a variety of school and community service projects usually during one or two recess periods each month. The club meets during the school day so all students have the opportunity to participate in meetings and activities. Some of the projects we will take part in this year include organizing a book drive, collecting gently used winter coats, making fleece blankets for children in need, and donating items – including homemade treats! - to the Toledo Area Humane Society.
Membership is K-Kids is open to fifth grade students at Starr School who meet the following criteria:
1. Complete a Membership Application, including parent/guardian signature.
2. Participate in at least three service activities during the school year.
3. Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.

"Congratulations to the following fifth grade students who have been invited to participate in K-Kids this year. These students will be performing service learning activities for our students and community during the 2012-2013 school year."
