Superintendent’s Message

Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  This promises to be one of the best years in the history of the Oregon School District.  The summer months have been very busy for our maintenance and custodial staff as they have worked hard to ensure that everything will be ready when your child arrives to school on their first day(see Summer Projects Completed).

Even though the economy is still struggling and funding for public education continues to be reduced,
I am proud to report that our district is in a position of temporary fiscal stability (see Updated 5 Year Forecast).  This has not been easy to achieve and is the result of an attitude of “shared sacrifice” on the part of the school and community.  We will continue to look for ways to streamline our operations while maintaining high quality educational programs for all of our students.  The value of a 21st Century education has never been more important than now!

I look forward to seeing you at many of the activities and events scheduled for the start of the school year.  Your presence and participation in your child’s education is a great way to support their learning and make our schools and community even stronger.  Good luck and best wishes to a successful new year!
