Dear Parents/Guardians,
March is here, the end of the quarter is near. This will mark the end of the 3rd quarter and grade cards will be sent home with your child on March 26.
In a middle school, academics are of course very important. Students at this age are establishing a foundation for future study and future success; the more solid the foundation, the more successful they will be in the future. Having said this, however, it is also important to bear in mind that middle school is also a time for tremendous personal growth and learning important life lessons.

Eisenhower Blood Drive
Thank you to those who donated blood at the Eisenhower Blood Drive, held on March 25th. We had 30 units donated which helped 90 people. Special thanks to Mrs. Laurie Rigg, who volunteered to organize the day and run the drive.

In recognition of their yearlong efforts, these students will be treated to a Mudhens’ game on Wednesday, May 17h. Eisenhower will pay for their ticket.

Cheerleading
Any 6th or 7th grade girl interested in trying out for cheerleading next year should sign up in the office. There will also be two mandatory clinic dates before tryouts. The clinics will be Thursday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 27 from 4:30-6:00. Information packets will be distributed at the first clinic. Please come to the clinics dressed appropriately to workout. You must have a current physical to attend the clinics and tryouts. Physical papers are available in the office. Tryouts will take place on May 1st at 10:00 in the Eisenhower gym.
This will be the tryouts for both football & basketball cheerleading next year.
Alyssa Baum Poetry Contest Winner
Alyssa Baum entered a contest for "Black History Month" through the Kroger Company. She won second place in the Poetry contest. She was invited to Columbus at the Ballroom for a luncheon and to meet the President of the Kroger Company. Alyssa won a $50.00 Mastercard,a big red ribbon with her name on it,a plaque award signed by the Kroger President and it stated that she was recognized for excellence in poetry writing. Her prize was 4 tickets to the Underground Railroad in Cincinnati. Her poetry was critiqued and placed in the ballroom for all to read. There was 300 contestants and Alyssa was chosen to be in the top 40.Way to go Alyssa
