WHAT: Safe Kids Greater Toledo and FedEx convened a pedestrian safety task force together with Oregon community leaders committed to child pedestrian safety as part of the 2010 Environmental Modification Grant.  The task force together with the City of Oregon is working to improve the permanent walking conditions for child pedestrians in the school zone area in front of Fassett Middle School.

WHEN: The task force will reveal the plans for the improvements at a news conference March 16, 2010, at 11:15 am at Fassett Middle School.

This is the tenth year the Safe Kids “Walk this Way” program has been active in communities across the United States.  Safe Kids Worldwide and FedEx focus task force efforts on making physical modifications to environments where children have been involved in vehicle crashes as pedestrians.
