One of the many extracurricular activities offered at Clay High School is Student Government. The Student Government representatives are elected every year by the students in their class. Meetings are held once a week in the morning before the start of school. Led by their executive board, which the members vote on once elected, Student Government is made up of strong and dedicated leaders from each class who believe that they can make a difference in their school. Throughout the year, Student Government hosts many events for the community and students. To help the community, the Student Government volunteers in soup kitchens, donates to the Oregon Food baskets and donates Christmas gifts to families in need. They also hold a Haunted Halloween event for the community. Student Government also plans several events for the student body. Some of the most popular of these events is Homecoming and Eagle Idol. Overall, Student Government is an activity that allows for students to be active in their school and have fun as well.
