Clay Honors Government Students Visit Ohio Supreme Court & Ohio Statehouse

Clay High School Honors government students visited the Ohio Supreme Court and the Ohio Statehouse on November 8.   Students toured the Supreme Court and learned about trial and appellate courts.  Justice Judith French met them in the courtroom to answer questions and speak about Ohio's judicial system.    At the statehouse students toured the building, visited the Ohio Senate chamber, and thanks to representative Sheehy, were allowed to sit in the chairs used by Ohio's state representatives!  Representative Sheehy spoke to the students about civic service and the legislative process.

Student Bryan Moore said:   ‚ÄúSeeing what determines and makes the rules and boundaries of our citizenship, not only in the US, but also in the state of Ohio is just outright amazing"   and Dominic Burkey said that "the statehouse artwork was simply stunning"
