We believe that all children can learn. The Starr staff provides a structured environment in which teachers are free to teach and students have the maximum opportunity to learn. Our goal is to reach the highest individual level of academic achievement and social growth for each child.

The Starr Elementary staff, in cooperation with students, families and community members, is committed to the promotion of academic achievement, respect for others, and responsibility for one's self and one's actions in an atmosphere of friendliness towards others.

     The Starr office will close for the summer on June 16th.  The office will reopen on August 9th.  If you have any questions during the time in which the Starr office is closed, feel free to call the Oregon City Schools Board Office at (419) 693-0661. 
     A few dates of interest for next year are August 11th and August 12th.  Pre-registration will take place on these dates from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.  During this time, students will get their school pictures taken, forms will need to be submitted and fees will need to be paid or a free/reduced lunch form will need to be completed.  The Instructional Fee for the upcoming school year is $45.00.  Families who qualify for reduced lunches will pay 50% of the fee and those who qualify for free lunches will have the fee waived.  School fee checks should be made payable to Starr Elementary School.  Pre-registration forms came home with grade cards at the end of the school year.  Please complete all paperwork and bring it with you to pre-registration.  After all information is submitted, each student will learn who their new teacher will be for the 2010 - 2011 school year.  If you are unable to attend during one of the listed times, please stop by the school office after August 12th to complete the pre-registration process. 
     Open House will take place on August 19th from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.  This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, tour the building, and bring in supplies previous to the first day of school.  The first day of school for students in grades 1 - 5 is August 23rd.  Students in kindergarten will start school on August 26th.
