Concert Chorale = This ensemble is open to all CHS students who enjoy singing and are interested in learning the fundamentals of good musicianship, including: reading music, sight-singing, ear training, basic music theory, and vocal technique.   This course is designed to address the needs of students with beginning to intermediate levels of vocal and/or choral experience. Concert Chorale performs a wide variety of choral literature that is carefully selected to help maturing voices develop, as well as to strengthen their musical skills and abilities.

It is important that students enrolled in Concert Chorale make a strong commitment to uphold our high standards of musicianship, citizenship, and academic excellence.  We challenge each member to take great pride in their development as a student musician, and to achieve stunning artistic results in every concert and performance opportunity.

Concert Chorale rehearses daily and presents several concerts and performances throughout the year.   Attendance and participation in these concerts and any after-school dress/extra rehearsals is required.   Enrollment in Concert Chorale is for the full school year.  Successful completion of this course will fulfill the “Fine Arts” credit required for graduation.

Varsity Voices = Varsity Voices is an after-school, select mixed ensemble designed for the very serious performer. Members are chosen by audition only.  Perspective members must demonstrate a high degree of musicianship, showmanship, and commitment.   The literature performed by this ensemble is difficult and challenging – thus requiring extra rehearsal time individually.  Varsity Voices is open primarily to juniors and seniors with at least one year of choral experience. Some underclassmen may be selected based upon the strength of their audition and past vocal performance experience.  Rehearsals are twice a week after school.  Auditions are held during the first two weeks of the school year.
