Clay High School International Thespian Society Troupe #12918 Throughout this past school year, several students in Clay’s Musial Theatre Career-Tech program participated in a months-long process of auditioning, rehearsing, and performing as part of the Educational Theatre Association’s International Thespian Society program. This organization recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement in theatre at the local, state, and international levels. Last fall, Ethan Ackerman , Reed Mittendorf, Olivia Ruiz, and Brock Stuller earned the highest scores possible (Superior) for their competition performances in Musical Theatre Solo and Musical Theatre Dance categories at the Ohio Thespian Fall Expo. This outstanding accomplishment qualified them to advance and compete at the International Thespian Festival this coming summer at Indiana University Bloomington. Recently, these students were also recognized at the annual Ohio Thespian Festival held in Chillocothe, OH for their superior performances and Olivia Ruiz was one of ten students selected to perform in Ohio’s Thespy showcase held during the festival. Additionally, Reed Mittendorf and Brock Stuller performed in the All-Ohio production of Ragtime at the Ohio Thespian Festival. Being selected as a Ragtime cast member provided an incredible opportunity to work with industry professionals and to be part of a powerful and moving theatrical performance.
