This Thursday, Clay High School’s Career & Technology Program will proudly host a ribbon cutting and open house for the newly renovated and expanded Marvin Hemminger Agriculture Greenhouse and Animal Housing Facility.
Marvin Hemminger was more than an agriculture teacher; he was a mentor, a role model, and a friend who believed in his students, giving them roots to grow and wings to soar. Though he passed in 1996, his influence still fills the classroom at Clay.
We’re honored to share an article written by his son, Brian, filled with heartfelt memories of visiting Clay as a child and of the father who made it extraordinary. Mr. Hemminger left a legacy that will continue to live in this new chapter of Clay Agriculture. 🦅
With a ribbon cutting ceremony being held with my family on Thursday at Oregon Clay High School, my column this week is about some of my favorite memories growing up with my dad while he was the vocational agriculture teacher there.
I haven't been there in about 20 years so I'm gonna be all up in my feelings that day. It'll be great to be back and see all the progress the school has made in that time though.
