Detailed Instructions for Returning Student Registration 2023-24

All returning students in grades 1-12 must be registered annually. You will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access PS Enrollment Registration. If you don't have a parent portal established already, look for a separate e-mail with instructions to do so now.

NEW in 23-24, due to PowerSchool updates:
  • All parents will be forced to update their PowerSchool Parent Portal password (see FAQ below for details).
  • Contacts - The way contacts are stored in PowerSchool has changed.  Please carefully review the Contacts page and provide complete information.  On the Priority page, be sure to list the contacts in order of highest priority.

Important points of information before you get started:
  • To properly plan for your child's return to school, it is very important that we receive your registration by Tuesday, August 1.
  • All OCS users will need a PaySchools Central account to manage fees, lunch balances and/or apply for free & reduced lunch.  If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one.  You will need your student's ID# to add them to your new account (included below student’s name listed above).  For more information, visit https://www.oregoncityschools.org/protected/ArticleView.aspx?iid=5I2U0Y&dasi=3IAB&cmsview=1.  We strongly encourage all parents to use PaySchools Central for fee and lunch payment transactions.
    • The system is FREE for all transactions.  There are no fees charged to you and you can use credit card or ACH (checking) to pay online.
  • Supply Lists - Supply lists for grades K-8 can be found at the district website https://www.oregoncityschools.org/HandbooksSupplyListsClassroomLearningLinks.aspx

FAQ's:
Password Reset Requirements
New in 23-24, all parents will be forced to update their PowerSchool Parent Portal password due to updated security requirements outside of the district's control.  New passwords must:

- be at least 8 characters long and include:
- one uppercase letter
- one lowercase letter
- one number
- one special character
- not be a well known password

I can’t remember my password for the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Click "Forgot Username or Password?" link.  If you know BOTH your Username and Email Address originally USED TO CREATE YOUR PORTAL years ago, then simply enter both and it will e-mail you a password reset.  If you don't know your Username, the click the Forgot Username? tab and enter the e-mail address to get that sent to you first.  Then complete the previous step.  Be patient as it typically takes 2-5 minutes to receive the e-mails.
If you aren’t able to retrieve your login credentials using the “Forgot Username or Password?” link on the Sign In page, please call 419-693-0661 for assistance logging in to the Parent Portal, or email [email protected] (be sure to provide your name, your student's name and grade level to expedite service).

Do I have to answer all the questions?
Questions marked with Required must be filled in.

What if I make a mistake?
If you would like to make a change, prior to submitting the form, you can navigate back to the page to make edits.  If you have already submitted the form, then you will need to contact your student’s school, so they can make the changes for you.

I’ve completed the form, now what?
When you reach the Summary page, it will display a green circle with a check mark for each page you have successfully completed.  If any pages display a number highlighted in red, then click on that number to be taken back to the field needing attention.  Once you have finished updating your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot click on this button, you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions. You will see a Conformation when you have completed the process.

What if I have more than one student in the district? Do I need to do this for each child?
Yes, because you’ll need to provide information that is specific for each child.  We recommend that you complete and submit one form and then start another – this will allow you to copy selected family information, which saves you time.

I do not have access to a computer to complete registration.
We have a kiosk setup in the vestibule at the Administraiton Building, 5721 Seaman Rd, Oregon for those who do not have access to any other computer.  Access to this computer will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The Administration Building is open from 7:30 - 4:00 daily.

How do I add a new student (e.g. kindergarten student) to my existing PS Parent Portal account which has older siblings attached already?
